In iLCA4SSbD, BASF contributes the perspective of a large industrial chemical company and supports the testing and demonstration of integrated Life Cycle Assessment approaches for Safe and Sustainable by Design decision-making. BASF is involved in WP7, “Testing & demonstration with case studies from industry”, where methods and tools developed in WP3–5 will be evaluated in realistic industrial case studies and linked back to the WP6 digital platform. BASF’s work focuses on industrial applicability, case-study feedback, and the practical integration of safety, sustainability, LCA and AI-supported assessment approaches into early innovation and product-development workflows.

BASF will contribute expertise in computational toxicology, in-silico New Approach Methodologies, SSbD assessment, industrial case-study design and data requirements for scalable implementation of iLCA methods.
