In its capacity as a leading technology centre, it has made available to the industrial fabric its specialised knowledge, solid technical capabilities and cutting-edge facilities to support industrial sectors in their transformation processes, from the moment an idea is conceived until it is implemented as a real and impactful solution.
Its mission is to help further economic growth and wellbeing by sustainably enhancing the competitiveness of companies for of society at large. Tekniker forms part of the Basque Research and Technology Alliance (BRTA), the Spanish Federation of Technology Centres (FEDIT) and the European Association of Research and Technology (EARTO).
Tekniker plays a key role in iLCA4SSbD by leading Work Package 1, coordinating a collaborative effort among project partners to identify key gaps and opportunities in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) for Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD). Together, the consortium assesses current sustainability assessment methods, tools and databases, addressing challenges related to data quality, uncertainty and interoperability, while exploring the potential of artificial intelligence to improve sustainability assessments. Drawing on its expertise in sustainability assessment and digital innovation, Tekniker helps establish the knowledge base that will guide the development of practical methodologies, reliable and aligned with the needs of industry, research, and policy stakeholders.
